Cozy Talk – A Late October Update

Hi there, as I have now been happily writing what I could do for the blog this month gave a spike that surprised me enough, in which I almost fell out of my chair, spilling coffee everywhere in my apartment.

Now that isn’t to say it also wasn’t thrilling, because it was actually, there’s a certain addictiveness seeing those numbers rise in bulk and an emotional fear when it goes down again, but as many people that have become successful bloggers, youtubers, streamers etc. in the end the numbers should not matter if you want to stay on your current path, yet they do if you want to become something.

All right so there has been a downer in upload consistency, but I wanted to let you know that I’m working on two projects in which I want to make as perfect as possible. They are in a way a mixture between article and thesis about something in media that could change if looked more into.
Other than that, I’ve become a part of Well-Red Mage’s new project which involves the look at Final Fantasy games, all the way from Final Fantasy I and all the way up to Final Fantasy XV with some of the spin-offs being a part of it as well. The fascinating thing about this will be to see how every other blogger will give their perspective on the different games they’ll be covering, I for one will be covering Final Fantasy XIV (plus all expansions and story patches), Final Fantasy XV (+ A New Empire), Mobius Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and World of Final Fantasy. All of this will with the rest of the other bloggers posts will go live at December 11th, 2017, 8pm CEST (or 7pm GMT). I know it might seem a lot and subjectively it is, however I would like to take on this challenge while trying to work on the next semester project at the college that gets introduced this week.

What else is there? Well I’m watching new series like Star Trek Discovery (yes, I am a Star Trek fan), Mindhunter, How to get away with Murder, Blacklist, Lucifer and planned on beginning watching several new anime series that has come out these past few months.
Also been playing some games, both on PC and PS4, these lovely games are South Park: The Fractured But Whole, Dark Cloud (soon to be followed with Dark Chronicle), Gran Turismo Sport, Mass Effect Andromeda, Horizon Zero Dawn and Fire Emblem: Awakening on the 3DS.

For the moment I also want to cover what will be coming as future posts on the website, yet you must know that it cannot be a daily posting with these, since I’m working with this much for the rest of October through November.
These posts will be a review of Mirror’s Edge Catalyst that I recently finished, and man was it an enjoyment to play, a few reviews on some movies and series that has been sitting, gathering dust in my to do list of posts to make. They are older, but do deserve a spot being on the website for you guys to read, even if you might already have seen them and read all the 100 other reviews made. Plus an interview is on the way I made with PowerBombAttack, first time recording the conversation and transcribing it is taking more time that I anticipated, still it’s something I’m looking forward to.

Next thing coming will be another Gaming Gripes, things will be clouded in mystery for it still but there are two outcomes that can come from this. Either it will be a post by myself or a guest will be a part of it like last post about “Characters Doing Stupid Things In Video Game Cutscenes” with Chris from Overthinkery, if you haven’t read it you should as we both go intro great detail about why it happens and how it can be made better.

A thing I’m looking forward to is surprisingly when winter arrives here in Denmark, not because of my education have almost finished first semester, or that Christmas- or New Year’s Eve have arrived (while I do look forward to celebrating Christmas with the family again). No for the past three years since I moved into my apartment, every winter that comes, the living room gets colder and I mostly only light the room with candles, brew some coffee and preparing the snack before starting up my PS3 (which might be upgraded to the PS4 instead) to play some Skyrim, sometimes mixing it up with Dragon Age Inquisition on the PS4.

What about you guys though? It’s almost the event of Halloween with the winter arriving. Are there any special thing you do by yourself or with others at certain times of the year that has somehow become a tradition to do? Tell me down in the comments and thank you for reading this.

Stay Cozy and have a nice day!

  1. Sounds like you’ve got a lot on at the moment! Looking forward to reading your articles in the final fantasy project, I’m working on a couple of the games myself and it is really reminding me just how many details there are to remember about each game!

Candles, coffee and Skyrim sounds like the perfect way to spend winter evenings. I don’t know if I have any specific winter traditions, but for Halloween every year I keep a box of matches near my front door, so when I get back home I can light candles all around the apartment and don’t have to turn an electric light on at all. I feel that if I have to put a light on it will somehow ruin the magic!

    • Why thank you very much Pix, to be honest it is quite fascinating to see if I can do better under more stress like environment. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn’t, but I’m glad to see you are looking forward to the articles coming.

The part about lighting candles all around the apartment, hopefully you do keep an eye on them and make sure they aren’t near any flammable objects. Because it does sound like a cozy, romantic way of enjoying the Halloween. I don’t celebrate the event and never had an interest for it, but the way you describe it makes it sound like a way to enjoy it by not being a full part of it 🙂

      • Not sure how I managed to omit this from my original comment (must have been half asleep yesterday!), but the final sentence was meant to say that on Halloween I always pick a scary game to play, so the spooky atmosphere is good for that! Normally play a different game each year, this year I’ve got Fatal Frame 2 lined up.

  2. Thank you for linking and I’m excited for the FF project as well. Keep on producing quality work and increasing the quality of your work and those numbers will take care of themselves.

You are a busy busy man. I feel for you having to transcribe our lengthy 2 HR interview. Looking forward to seeing it posted and the other projects you have on the go!

Since we talked about it briefly that day, how are you liking Andromeda? I’m still chipping away at it, but finding it much more enjoyable to stick to the main story than exploring.

    • Haha, well I do think I can manage. It does seem daunting but also intriguing about how well I can work under a stress like environment.
Yes, it has taken some time with transcribing the interview and I do want to apologise for taking longer than anticipated but know that it is on the way my friend. 🙂

Thank you though for both reading and having the patience, for Andromeda, I’m still running around trying to 100% every single planet possible in the game. Doing all the sidequests, learning more about the races in the logs and earning enough XP to become a god…since I do play it on the hardest difficulty. So right now I’m cruising around the ice planet, getting ready to find a giant mechanical Doom like worm as the planet stabilizes from the core being reset.
Though I do get why many aren’t liking it, yet I have enjoyed myself from start up ’til now with no more being irritated of my own mistakes.
I do hope you’ll get to see more of what it offers as the developers have put a ton of time into developing all the quests available, and that the game won’t dissapoint too much.

This reminds me of the perfect line everytime I think of sci-fi: “Space…the final frontier”. 🙂

yea the whole final frontier vibe is what i get to. I tried going around Eos doing all the side missions, but it ended up just continually taking me from one checkpoint to another until i surprisingly found a giant worm boss that destoryed me. I’m playing on the hardest difficulty as well.

I’m wondering if perhaps other planets are more enjoyable. At the very least i’ll do my squad mate missions. I’ve always liked doing 100% of Mass Effect, so Andromeda has kind of put me in a tough spot because there’s just so much to do.

A lot of stuff going on for you! Good luck with everything. If I get to DA Inquisition by the end of the year, I’ll consider it a success, haha.

    • Thank you, it will be a busy few months but I look forward to the work at hand, and maybe we could play Dragons Age Inquisition together one day if you would like to. Still, it’s a good game to which I wish you a good journey 😁
